The Greek word that is pronounced Malaka is an extremely offensive Greek slang word, meaning wanker or a person that masturbates a lot.
On that note, i'd like to apologise for any offense the naming of my blog might cause, and any upset it might bring to the possible Greek readers. I'm also willing you to understand that the word, however inappropriate it is for a blog that is largely about Greece, is used because it is a word that has a certain comedy and sentimental value to me.
From my experience, Malaka is a word that is thrown around with little abandon, not only among Greeks but also foreigners who have stayed long enough to pick up the word and it's usage. It's one of those words that can be used as a friendly tease to a close mate just as much as an insult to an enemy. It's potency purely depends on the context it's used and who it's aimed at.
